An
Island?
Although Lefkas is called an island, it is only 50 metres from the mainland
and is attached to the mainland by a causeway and mobile bridge. The bridge is
opened for 10 minutes on the hour, every hour, every day, to permit boats to
pass through the channel from the open Ionian Sea to the enclosed sea between
Lefkas, Meganissi and the mainland. This makes Lefkada a very easy island to
get to. |
