Gialos Beach, Leucade, Grecia

Gialos Beach is a beautiful beach on the far south west coast of Lefkas.  It is situated below the village of Athani via an easily driveable but very winding tarmac and cement road (lots of hairpins!).

The road takes you to a car parking area where, during the summer season, you will find two caravans selling drinks and snacks. There is also a small taverna along the track to the north of the beach.

The beach is long, stretching away to the south, and is pebbly/shingly.  It shelves steeply.  There are a few sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent near the snack caravans, but apart from that the beach is fairly undeveloped.  Dress restrictions are 'relaxed' at the quieter southern end of this beach.

The beach catches the sun all day from late morning.  Bring water!
